A DIFFICULTY SOLVED. [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 8. The protracted negotiations which have taken place between the City Council and the Wellington Gas Company relative to the question of gas mairm in the snbnrhe have been bronchi to finality. Under the agreement the Connell grant leave to the Gas Company to lay the mains to Miramax and the neighboring boroughs, under direction of the CouncLTs requirements, on payment of £6O a year for tewnty-one vears, and thereafter of £IOO a year, unless the Council buy the Gas Company out i of Melrose, The Council therefore, accordmg to the, mayor, maintain the principle of their control over their streets.
