ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.
An inquest was held at Christchurch on the body of John M'Tainsh, who was killed at the Sockburn railway crossing. A verdict of “Accidental death” was returned, with a rider to tho effect that tho department might consider the question of placing a crossing-keeper at the crossing. Mm 'lTomas Bishop died at Balclutha from injuries received on. Sunday afternoon. She was walking to church, when a young man riding a bicycle collided with hoi-, ami she was knocked down. She was conveyed to her home about two hours alter the accident, and it was not thought she was severely hurt, but serious symptoms set in yesterday morning, and she died dining the day from hemorrhage of the brain. Mis Bishop, avlio was an old resident of the district, was sixty-four yearn of age.
