LODGE MEETINGS.

The Hope of Dunedin Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held their weekly meeting on Fridav in the lodge room, Dowling street, Bro". G. Whale, P.C.T., presiding. Two candidates were initiated. The Pioneer Lodge paid an official visit, and were heartily welcomed, their C.T. (Bro. E. Cameron) being invited to the dais. In responding to the welcome he gave an excellent address on the progress their lodge was making, and announced that they would shortly hold their thirty seventh anniversary, to which he gave "an invitation to everyone to attend. Representatives were also present from the Star of Freedom and Alliance Lodges. The programme for the evening was a Dutch auction for the benefit of a member. A lot of useful articles were disposed of. The harmony programme was a good one, and consisted of items mostly by Pioneer members. Correspondence was received from the District Lodge and dealt with. Next meeting a breach of promise case will be the item. The damages are laid at £3,000, and will be decided by a jury of wom^n. The weekly meeting of the Star of Freedom Lodie was held on Wednesday in the Young Men's Room, Kaikorai. Sis. Paterson. C.T., ] residing. Communications were received from Mr G.
