PRICES HARDENING. CHRISTCHURCH, April 20. The local wheat market, as a result of the high prices ruling in Great Britan, -•Cmerica, and the Comonwealth, has hardened considerably during the prevent week, and prices have advanced fid to 9d during the last ten days. During the current week a line of 5,000 bushels changed hands in South Canterbury on a basis of 4s fid per bushel, delivered in Timaru, while other lines are being freely purchased at prices up to 4s 4ci on trucks at country stations.
