DUNEDIN CITY MISSION.

The next meeting will be held in February, 1909. la the matter of resuming classes in. the State schools the Committee gave Mr Wright a perfectly free hand to do what seems best.

With sincere gratitude to God for His blessing, seconded by a warm-hearted Committee, the missionary noted that for the thirteenth year the Bible-reading classes were closed a few days ago at North-east Valley, Kaikorai, Albany Street, High Street, and ’Arthur Street, Schools. About 1,000 children were present and many parents, also teachers and committeemen representing the schools. Kind things were said of the City Mission and its agent, and cordial thanks recorded. It was also noted that for thirteen years Mr Wright had under his charge about 1,000 boys and girls, and over 1,200 were enrolled. As soon as the classes are closed each year the missionary is able to visit more of the old and sick in and around the City. He has also visited the public institutions. In connection with the temporary trouble which comes to some homes, and special cases as well, Air Wright had spmt £27 in procuring the necessaries of life, etc. He has also assisted with week-day and Sunday services at Wocdside Hall and Sunday school, Kew S.S. anniversary, North-east Valley Methodist Church, Glenaven, and Caversham Church and Sunday school. The Albany street Sunday service continues to prosper, and assistance has been given by experienced men and women. The final service for this year will be held on Sunday, 20th inst., as* after that date the school will be closed for some weeks. Literature and books of a suitable character are, at a cost of £2O, put in circulation each vear.
