The Rev. W. Curzon-Siggers, of St. Alatthew’s Church, has been elected an honorary canon of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Admiral Sir Richard Poore arrived in Dunedin by the first express from Christchurch yesterday. To-day he went on to Queenstown, and will spend a couple of days in the Lakes district. Sir Richard has to be in Christchurch again on Alonday to attend the banquet that is to be tendered to him and the officers of the fleet by the mayor.
Cable advice has been received that Air S. De Beer, son of Mrs De Beer, of Roslyn, hits taken his degree as A.A1.1.E.E. in London.
Th© London Hospitals Sunday Fund receives between £600,000 and £700,000 under the will of the late Air George Herring.
President Roosevelt had a narrow escape when he was walking to church at Washington. He was knocked down by a motor car, but unhurt. The President said that he had had a very close shave.
A London message advises the death of Air H. Bamato, the last surviving founder of the famous South African firm of Barnato Bros.
