The salary attached to the appointment is £220 a year. Applicants must be British subjects, must be not more than 45 years of age, must hold a certificate of competency as Master Ordinary, and must have had command of a vessel or vessels. The selected candidate will be required to pass the examination for pilots prescribed by the Harbor By-laws for ports where there is not a Harbor Board. Applications must be accompanied by evidence of ago, and certificates of service at sea, and of good conduct and sobriety.
