WORKS RECOMMENDED. The report of tho Works Committee of the Dunedin Drainage Board, to be presented to the Board meeting on Tuesday night, recommends that the first section of tho Northeast Valley branch sewer be laid, and states that the engineer has been authorised to invite tenders, returnable in three months, for tho supply and delivery of a 3ffc 6in castiron rising main. Tho Committee also recommend tho Board to appoint one supervising engineer at a salary of £2OO per annum, one draughtsman at a salary of £IBO per annum, one surveyor at a salary of £IBO per annum, and suggest that applications for these positions be invited. The Finance Committee recommend tho Board to lease the strip of the pumping station land adjoining (Milling Park to the St. Kilda Council for a period of fourteen years at a rental of £5 per annum. The pass books show the aggregate fund to be £3,161 18s 7d in credit, and the trust account £327 6s 2d in credit.
