A ROMANTIC MARRIAGE.
A. romantic wedding took place in London on September 3. The bride was Mrs MarenaH Field, widow of the late Mr Marshall Field jun., of Chicago, and the bridegroom Mr Maldwin Dnunmond, son of the late Mr Edgar A. Drummond, of Southampton, and of the Hon. Mrs Drummond, daughter of Lord Muncastor. Unusual inI tcrest' attached to the ceremony, Mis Marshal! Field herself being worth many milI , !e tllc bridegroom is connected with the famous Drummond’s Bank. The I ceremony r ' which was kept strictly secret, took place at the Bucldngliam Palace Road Registry, in the parish of Westminster Unly. six persons in all were present, and they arrived simultaneously at the registry shortly before noon. In addition to the bride and bridegroom tho company conxrpnsed Mrs Field’s two. young sons, the Duke of Westminster, and Mr Craig Wads- [ worth (secretary to the American Embassy). I Ihe ceremony was by ordinary license, both parties having the necessary qualification as ; regards the period of residence for a license. A few minutes sufficed for the formalities before the registrar. The Duke of Westminster and Mr Wadsworth signed the register as witnesses. The bride was the widow of the only son of Mr Marshall field. Her present husband was a close friend of the latter, having known him intimately for over ten years... Her two sons, who wdp.eoihe into millions on attaining thar majority, are being educated at Eton and will become naturalised British suL jects. The bridegroom is' thirty-six years old. . •
