Mails for Northern Ports are also closed every Saturday at 12.45 p.m. For Waikouaiti, Palmerston, Oamaru, Waimate, Tomuka, Timaru, Ashburton, Christchurch, per second express, daily, at 12.45 p.m. (late letters C.P.O. 1 p.m.; on guard’s van 1.26 p.m.). For Greymouth, Hokitika, and Eeefton, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, at 12.45 p.m. For Oamaru and Timaru twice daily at б. a.m. and 12.45 p.m. For Invercargill and intermediate'offices daily, at 6.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. For Cromwell, Clyde, Ranfurly, and intermediate offices daily, at 6.30 a.m. Late-fee letters must bear in addition to the ordinary postage Id. KING’S BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY.
Monday next, the 9th inst., will be observed as a Post Office holiday. The usual despatch of mails will be made up to 7.15 a.m. All other mails, usually made up on Monday, will bo dosed at 7.15 a.m. A full delivery in town and suburbs will be commenced by letter-carriers at 2 p.m. on Saturday, the' 7th inst. A counter delivery of town and suburban letters will be made at the Chief Post Office between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, 7th November. W. St. George Douglas, Chief Postmaster.
