MURDERED TO MUSIC.

“Wilful murder” against Charles Woodman, a Hull electrician, was the verdict at the inquest on Kate J-cc, a local barmaid, who was found on September 19 at night on the sands with her throat cut. The girl was last >een alive with the prisoner, who afterwards gave himself up to. the police, and said he bad murdered her. A knife was subsequently found on the sands. The prisoner, who appeared in a dazed condition, and covered his face with his hands, was not represented legally. Evidence was given to the effect that the deceased and prisoner were seen, sitting on a seat near the beach at 8.46 on the night in question, the prisoner having Ms arms round her neck. At nine o’clock a clerk found the giri’a body lying face downwards on 'the sands five yards from the seat. The couple appear to have been lovers at Hull, and to have quarrelled, but became friends again. In a statement to the police Woodman is said to have stated that he cut Miss Lee’s throat with the songs of pierrots and other seaside minstrels ringing in his ears. ■
