LETTERS CONDENSED.

P. Neilson replies to the letter from " A Worker," referring particularly to the letter's statement that a split between Liberalism and Labor at the present time would throw the cause of Labor back a dozen years. "So long as party government is in vogue we hejieve that Labor will be better off by having a sparate paity, and none of the arguments that have been adduced so far have convinced us to the contrary. A Conservative party for a Conservative policy, a Liberal party for a Liberal policy, and why we shouldn't have a Labor party for a Labor policy is beyond my conception. So long as we have party government Tm for a Labor party. But let us substitute democratic government on the lines of the Swiss system by the Referendum with the Initiative." *
