MEETING OF CREDITORS.

At the meeting in the estate of R. F. Thomson, farmer, of Green Island, held yesterday, Bankrupt, further examined by Mr James, said that he sold certain of the stock to his father for £SO. After that he paid bis father £126 for money lent, wages of a man (his brother) sent up to work, clothes, etc. He sent his father some valueless chaff and about ten bags of oats. His father did not send in a bill, but had all the items down in a book. He denied that he was indebted to Robertson for rent. He offered it, but Robertson would not take it. Mr Janies said that Robertson could not, because it would have waived his right to redress for breach of covenant to keep in order. Bankrupt added that Robertson offered before the judgment to accept £SO and a bill for £4O and a stack worth £7. He had earned nothing since he left the farm, and had spent £39 11s 6d in personal expenses. He told Robertson before leaving that he would file if Robertson took proceedings against him. He was not waiting for Robertson to make him bankrupt, but understood that Robertson was going to put him through the Court. He kept no books. He had paid all his creditors except. Robertson. Mr James (representing the sole creditor, James Robertson, of Lawrence) said that the facta elicited, would be brought before the Judge when debtor applied for his discharge. Mr Bundle (bankrupt’s solicitor) replied that the debtor would apply in the ordinary course within four months. He had simply been unfortunate.
