CRIMINAL SITTINGS.
♦ PALMERSTON NORTH, The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court commenced this morning. Addressing the Grand Jury Mr Justice Cooper expressed pleasure at the very light nature of the business. He congratulated the district on the comparative absence of crime, remarking that it was very refreshing to travel on circuit and find both here and at Wanganui comparative immunity from serious offences. '
