AUCKLAND, June 2. Replying to a deputation from the Auckland Ministers' Association, the Hon. G. Fowlds expressed surprise that the cadet camp at the Thames was continued over Sunday. He promised to do his utmost to discourage any movement in favor of Sunday camps henceforth. He added : " I'll undertake that no sanction shall bo given to Sunday cadet camps." In the Supreme Court a decree nisi was granted in the divorce proceedings Benjamin Silver v. Alicia Silver, for alleged misconduct with Thomas Goulton.
AUCKLAND, June 2. The police, reporting to the Auckland Licensing Committee, stated that the hotels here compared favorably with thoso in any of the Southern centres, and that there had been a diminution of drinking by women in hotels.
