TO THK EDITOR. Sir. — The shooting season opens on Ist .May for feathered game. Reports from far and near are. that paradise ducks are plentiful—more plentiful than for years past. It is rumored that these birds are again to be protected. Can you tell me if this is so for both Otago and South Canterbury?— l am, etc., Central. April 14. [The Government have protected paradise ducks all over New Zealand. The Acclimatisation Society had nothing to do with imposing the license fee, and are powerless to remove it.—Ed. E.S.J
