(Receive': April 14, at 8.55 a.m.) The telegrapiiK.t.s of India, who heretofore had three hours' interval for sleep during tuo night \ratch, were ordered to be on eigne hours' continuum dutv day or night. They objected, and .asked for an increase of 25 per cent, in their pay. The Viceroy (K-arl Minto) supports Mr Newlands, the British Post Office expert who was sent io India, and who is enforcing the new regulations.
