ANOTHER ALARMING EXPERIENCE IN AUCKLAND. [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, December 9. As an electric tramcar was ascending Wellesley street on Saturday evenino- ! flames suddenly burst from the interior! : The motorman had one arm badly scorched, 1 and was thrown off tho car. Half a dozen ! passengers jumped out. ' The car was running back on the down grade at a high speed when an ex-motorman jumped aboard, pulled the trolly-pole off the wire, i and stopped the car, _ The shock to the passengers was considerable, as the seats suddenly became alive, the car being lit up with flashing blue lights emitted from all the ironwork.
