Two appropriations of £SOO each were disposed of at last night's meeting of the United Starr-Bowkett Society, over which Mr F. W. Mitchell presided. Li the ballot for one appropriation, cluster No. 288. held By one shareholder, was drawn, and - the sale of the other appropriation was effected at a premium of £ls per cent. At a. special meeting of the Colonial Sugar Company it was decided to increase the capital by the issue of 15,000 new shares of £2O each.
