In tlio meantime Dr Fitchetfc has gone on a visit to Europe, consequently a new judge had to be appointed—this time a New Zealand authority. All the time it has been in Christchurch, however, it has been in bond, and tho duty has not been exacted. If it remains lu the colony it will have to nay tho duty, which, as tho picture is valued at £5,000, will be £I,OOO. In these circumstances it is not likely to be shown in other New Zealand cities.
