The King of Spain, yielding to the bishops’ protest, has abrogated; the ■ decree of August last which authorised civil marriage without a declaration of the religion of the contracting parlies. [On August 28 King Alfonso signed a decree declaring that the Civil Code of 1869 unconditionally authorises civil marriages, irrespective of the leidgkms-tenete of-the xespcetiye particß.] .
