METHODIST CONFERENCE.

[From Otm Special Corrbspondekt.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 4. The Methodist Conference sat in oommitte© on various matters this morning until half-past twelve, when the members assembled to receive a visit from the Hon. G. Fowlds, Minister of Education, who delivered an interesting and sympathetic address. The Rev. W. J. Williams replied on behalf of the Conference. The Hon. Mr FowHs invited the members of the Conference to meet him for tea on Friday afternoon in the Minister's rboms at the Exhibition, which invitation tho Conference accepted. This afternoon the Conference was engaged with tho question of the division of circuits. At the dinner adjournment Mr T. H. Race, Canadian Commissioner at tho Exhibition, gave a characteristic address, which was much enjoyed.
