NO-LICENSE POSSIBILITIES

[Special to the Stab.]

WELLINGTON*, January 8.

Of the twenty-one polling booths included by the Commissioners' boundaries in the new Wellington Suburbs electorate 1,861 votes were cast last election for Continuance and 2.181 for No-license. If there are 2,425 at the next poll the district will be No-license, but it is early to estimate what the population will be by that time in this rapidly-progressing land. The reverse side is to be s>een at Oamaru and Asbburton. where No-licenre will be the fiat, not, of local option, but of those OnnmksioncrK who had to approach the question in the character of "medecin malgro lui." Commenting on this, the Bev. Mr lait very fairly said to-day: " We want the question of License or Noliceneo determined by the people's vote; wo have no desire to gain by accidental happenings."
