(Received Jannary 9, at 2.21 pjn.j The quantity of wheat and flour afloat, for the United Kingdom is 1,825,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1.265,000 quarters. The Altantic shipments were 160,000 quarters, and the Pacific 50,000 quarters. Stocks and shares : Australian and New Zealand Mortgage Company, £93. BURNSIDE STOCK SALES. '-' The sale at Burnside to-day was, <m the whole, a lifeless one. The continued dry weather and growing scarcity of feed were factors responsible for a very large vanding of lambs, some 1,300 or 1,400 being forward. Sheep were a little easier, best wethers bringing from 15s 6d to 17s, with a few extra touching 19s and 19s 3d. The market for lambs dropped a good 3s for medium and inferior sorts, ana 2s for better quality. Best lambs sold at from 12s to 13s 6d, and extra from-14s 6d to 15s 9d. Good lambs were bringing from 10s to lis, and good stores were obtainable at 6s 6d arid 7s 6d. A good proportion of those forward wero purchased by a freesing buyer.
