RAISULI FLEES. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MOROCCO, January 7. The Sultan’s artillery dislodged the brigand Raiseli from his stronghold, and Ilaisuli fled to the mountains. [Raisuli first came into world notoriety by Ids capture in 1904 of an American citizen, Mr Perdicaris, and his eon-in-law, Mr Ho demanded and received a ransom of £II,OOO. The Sultan was so cowed by his formidable “subject” that he installed him Governor of Tangier, since which he has been a source of anxiety to the Powers. Recently Raisuli usurped the position of Governor of the Moorish province of Argila, and refused to obey the command of the Sultan to relinquish the post on account of his cruel administration of the province. The Moorish Government sent a force of 2,000 Sherifian troops to Tangier, to take part in the operations .against the ex-brigand. The latter concentrated his forces at Zinah, where he was attacked by a combined force of French, Spanish, and Morroccan troops.]
