Certain phenomena of the tideless sea rising and falling in the harbors of Malta and other indications have given rise (says the ‘Telegraph’s’ correspondent) to the theory that the island tilts periodically. The seismograph ingeniously set up in the past at the dockyard, and recently the new Milne seismograph, established on the foundation rock of the University, show that the island is swayed from side to side.
