DEATH FROM SUNSTROKE

AT THE NEW DOCK, PORT CHALMERS. A death from heart failure, brought on by sunstroke, occurred at the hospital last evening. The case was that of Thomas Ritchie, aged about fifty years, a laborer employed at the new dock works, Port Chalmers. After having worked in the sun for some hours, Ritchie received a sunstroke, and was .promptly attended by Dr' Hodges at the Port. This was about 5 pun), and the sufferer was conveyed up to town by tho first train and taken to the hospital, where he died almost immediately on arrival. The wife and family of the deceased reside in Walker street. An inquest was held at (he hospital this afternoon.
