A TIDAL WAVE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PERTH, January 7. (Received January 7, at, 9.56 a.m.) The seismograph at the observatory recorded two violent tremors on Wednesday and Saturday last. The indications are that they occurred on the south-east coast of Africa or in Central India. A 6 bearing on the second record, the East- Extension officer at Rodriquez, about 380 miles from Mauritius, informed the officer at Cocos Island that tho sea was boiling at Rodriquez, and small tidal waves were experienced. Later on the water rose higher than was ever known before, and the boats had to be hauled up out of danger. After rising for two hours the sea receded.
