The North Canterbury correspondent of the 'Times' writes that owing to the- unevenness of the crops it is excedmgly difhcult to give an estimate of the probable fields of cereals over the whole of North Canterbury, but approximately wheat should average 30 to 33 bushels per acre, and oats 38 bushels. Barley, of which only a very limited quantity is grown, ■will return" about 40 bushels per acre. Owing to the abundance of sunshine the giain, it 39 expected, will bo of a highclass quality.
