WELLINGTON, November 27. Tli© Premier expresses satisfaction in rc--gard to the progress which lias been made in relation to his negotiations with the Union Company- for a steamer connection between Now Zealand and tho mail service from Auckland via Suez. The proposal is that in the week of tho arrival of the San Francisco steamer the boat for Sydney should leave on Friday instead of Saturday, so as to make tho connection with tho Australian outward mail. It is understood that the negotiations have nan-owed themselves down to the question of price. The Premier will confer with Mr Mills, the managing director of tho Union Company, on Thursday, and expects a satisfactory arrangement will then be arrived at.
