PERSONAL.
Last night, at a meeting of the Union street School Committee, it was announced that Mr Alexander Stewart (head-master), identified with the school ever since its foundation, had tendered his resignation to the Education Board. Mr William Braithwaitc Manson —a young Dunedinito—has, we learn, been offered an appointment to sing in the choir of His Majesty’s Royal Chapel. “Our Own” at Christchurch wires:—, Mrs G. S, Munro sails for England to-day via Suez to bring out her tiro daughters. Miss Marion, the elder, became engaged to an English gentleman of high family, who will make the return voyage with Mrs Munro and ter two daughters.
