A UNITED SOCIAL.
The South Dunedin Church of Christ Chapel was crowded on Sunday evening, when Mr Mortimer, the evangelist, who' is leaving for Auckland, gave his farewell address. At the close of the address five persons were baptised. Last night a united social, was held in the Town Hall, South Dunedin. Captain C. F. Sundstrum presided, and expressed the deep sense of loss felt by the Churohes of Christ in the City at Mr Mortimer's departure. Appreciative speeches were also made bv Mr Hastie (the Tabernacle preacher), J. inglis -Wright, and Sister Marie. A purse of sovereigns was presented by Mr ..J. Routledge, on behalf of the Moroington and South Dunedin churches, and a suver teapot and spoons by Miss Rnshworth on behalf of the Mornington Bible Class. A choir, under the cdnductorship of Mr Trounce, rendered several gospel songs. Miss Binnie contributed a violin solo, and the Misses Sundstrum and Thompson a pianoforte duet. Miss Eva Cooke's song 'Not good-night' was effectively rendertd, and a recitation by Miss Larner wa& greatly appreciated, ■
