One of tie masters at Te Aro School iras yesterday charged with having assaulted a boy by beating hj m with a cane The evidence showed that the boy had'rerased to complete a task -when kept in and had amused himself by annoying the master. In dismissing the case, the magistrate told the informant (the boy's father) that if he 'objected to corporal punishment he should send the lad to a school -where it r .jsas inflicted oaraocoistJsgiUQ.'
