A WARNING.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —A young man olaimipg close relationship to a retired Southland Presbyterian minister has been, appealing to ministers and cfcbera for monetary help for ids relative in Sydney. His appeal has induced a number to lend various sums, as requested. I have received from one of our most prominent ministers in Sydney a, letter about this matter, in which be says: "I have just seen our old friend. Ho never authorised anyone to make an appeal on his behalf. He is not in want. He has not received a single penny of HI tie sums you have named. Whoever <&• the gathering did it for himself.
