Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, as, under :

Overland, Northern ports, Christohurch, and intermediate offices, daily, 6.30 a.m. Late letters 7.40; also on the mail van xm to 8 a.m. For second express for Palmerston, Oamaru, Waimate, Timara, Ashburton, and Christchurch, at 12.45 pan., also Northern ports, at 12.45 p.m. on Saturday. For Greymonth, Hokitika, and Reefton, Monday and Thursday, at 12.45 p.m. For south express trains at 7.30 a.m. and 5 pjn. Late-fee letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28. For Australian States, per North express, to connect with the Manuka at Wellington, at 6.30 pjn. Late letters C.P.O. 7.40, also on the mail van up to 8 a.m. Money orders close at 4 p.m. and registered letters at 5 p.m. on 27th. For Lyttelton and Christchnroh.—Per Tarawera, at 2 pjm. Late letters 3 p.m. on board. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICB. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26. Supplementary mails for America, the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, etc., will close at 6.30 a.m. Late-fee lettere at the C.P.O. at 7.40 a.m., and north express at 8 a.m. The above mail will be due in London on the 27the October. The Rimutaka will leave Wellington for London via Monte Video and Teneriffe, on the 27th at 10 a.m. Correspondence for the United Kingdom (specially addressed) will close at this office on the 2fith at 6.30 a.m. Mails from Melbourne for Durban and Cape Town,, per Damascus, from Melbourne, 28th September, via Fremantle; Persic, via Albany, Bth October; Wafcoal, ■lßth October, via Adelaide. Mails for the Chatham Islands, per Ripple, close at Lyttelton on the Ist. October at 8 p.m. Mails for Fiji and Penrhvn Islands, ncr Manapouri, close at Auckland on the 2nd October at 3.45 p.m.
