FOR THE CAUSE THAT NEEDS ASSISTANCE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Chi Wednesday evening, September 26, at Her Majesty's Theatre, a concert is being given by people interested in the social welfare of the inmates of the Benevolent Institution, with the object of raising funds to purchase a piano in order that the old people may have the pleasure of being entertained by musical folk who from time to time go out to the Homo and give our aged friends a little music. Naturally, when visitors take the trouble to organise entertainments on behalf of the inmates they would desire having a good instrument to help them through their programme. Well, thia 18 why the concert is being held. A lot of kind-hearted people recognise that the inmates aro worthy of and appreciate anything in the way of a "musical evening* 1 ' and this has, no doubt, prompted them in their kind endeavors. Dxmedin, I know, has a reputation for readily assisting "a good causes" Thestj last two words well describe the object of tho concert,- and I sincerely hope the Dunedin public will turn up in large numbers at this entertainment. so that the purchase of a piano for the old people's welfare may be an accomplished fact. Thanks, sir, for your courtesy in granting me this space. The Dunedin are-ever ready with their columns to help along a worthy object.—l am, etc., A Visitor to the Home. September 24.
