CHINESE OUTRAGE
THE ATTACK ON DR HORNE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PEKTN, August 22, With reference to the attack by Chinese at Tungan on Dr Horne and Mr P. Eadie (who were connected with the China Mutual Insurance Company) in June last, Dr Morrison (correspondent of the London 'Times') declares thati Dr Horne was unarmed, and displayed fine heroism. The doctor has returned to Australia, injured for life with a fracture of the skull. Negotiations for reparation have been transferred to Pekin. SYDNEY, August 23. (Received August 23, at 10.22 a.m.) Dr Horne, mentioned in the English cables, is at present in Australia. A piece of bone is now lighfy resting on the brain, the left leg is somewhat paralysed, and he is subject to epileptic fits.
