MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The annual meeting of Lodge Dnnedin took place on Tuesday evening, the P.M.e and brethren of all constitutions being largely in excess of any previous meeting The lodge was opened by the W.M. (Bro. W. lies), ;md the District, Provincial, and Grand Lodge representatives were received in clue form. The W.M.-elect (Bro. W. A. Smith, S.W.) was presented and obligated by the R.W. Bro. T. S. Graham, D.G.M., E.C. A board of installed masters was then formed, and Bro. Smith duly placed in the chair. The proclamation was made by W. Bro. S. Evans, director of ceremonies, assisted by members 0 £ the orchestra. The following officers were invested by R.W. Bro. Ronaldson, Grand Superintendent of Otago, N.Z.O. :—I.P.M , Bro. W.. lies; S.W.. Bro. John Jacobs;' J.W., Bro. E. Stratton; chaplain, W. Bro. Cameron, P.M. ; organist, Bro. Robertshaw ; assistant organist, Bro. Bool; director of ceremonies, W. Bro. Evans, P.M. • treasurer, Bro. T. Cole; secretary, Bro. J. W. Jobuuon; 5.D.,8r0. Sneddon; J.D., Bro. E. S. Clarke; I. G., Bro. Snowball; tyler, Bro. Meyer; stewards—Bros. White, E. S. Macass'ey, Blakely, R. J. Prance, Leeder, Kent. Mortimer. The R.W.D.G.M., E.C. (Bro. T. S. Graham), addressed the newly-installed master. The address to the wardens was delivered by R.W. Bro. Jamee Gore,DG.M V S.C. The retiring W.M.-was presented with a handsome P.M.'s jewel by *W. Bro. Wallace, in recognition of his services to the lodge. The choir and orchestra, under the supervision of Bro. Robertshaw, received the well-merited approbation .of the brethren present. Congratulations were tendered to the W.M. by R.W. Bro. Ronaldson, G.S , on behalf of the N.Z.C. ; by R.W. Bro. J. Gore, S.C., and bv R.W. Bro. M'Nicoll, 1.C., also by the "W.M.s, P.M.s, and brethren of sister lodges. A banquet was afterwards held in the new banquet liall to celebrate the event, at which about 250 brethren sat down. The usual loyal and complimentary speeches were made, and some excellent music was contributed by yaiioua brethren.
