Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, as under: Overland, Northern ports, Christchurch, and intermediate offices, daily, 6.30 a.m. Late letters 7.40; also on the mail van up to 8 a.m. For second express for Palmerston, Oamaru, Waimate, Timaru, Ashburton, and Christchurch, at 12.45 p.m. Also, Northern ports, at 12.45 p.m. on Saturday. For Greymonth, Hokitika, and Reefton, Monday and Thursday, at 12.45 p.m. For south express trains at 7.30 a.m. rnd 5 p.m. Late letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id.
