PRESENTATION TO MR DUNCAN WRIGHT.

The regular attendants at the Sabbath setvrces in the Ruseell street Mission Hail hst; night tendered a social to Mr Duncan Al right, who is now severing his connection -With The- hall after ten years’ service. Tho chair taken by Mr D. Gain, who in hw address stated that the alteration now -bemg made by First Church was in no wise a reflection upon the value and faithfulness of Mr Wright’s services, but was a •necessary part of the new forward movoment of First Church. All the same, those who had worked in connection with Mr Wright, and those who had regularly attended "the services, felt sorry he was mov■JPS .from them, and desired to «iye taongible expression to their love for himself and appreciation of his work. It was' not desired to make the meeting a pad or gloopiy one, but rather one of thankfulness Grit they had enjoyed the privilege of hi s Uiiipf-tratiqns for <3O mg-ny years, and * it was certain that the good work he had done at Bussell street Hail would never' be Iprgotten. Ms Wright said it was with peal emotion he rose to thank the speakers for all the mce things they had .-aid of him, the manv ■friends who had attended (be meeting, and to all who bad subscribed to provide such beautiful pregents. The motion was Carried by acclamation. During the evening the choir rendered two choruses (‘Call His name Jesus’ and ‘Home, dear home’), Miss E. Simpson recited ‘ The Stowaway,’ and Mr D. Gain f The Starless Crown. Misses Simpson and L. Honey man sang the duet 4 Friendship,’ and Mr J. M‘Farlano sang ‘Sowing the abed.’ Apologies for non-attendance were received from Hr G. M. Thomson and Mr E. Cameron. The hall was most tastefully decorated, and refreshments were supplied.
