FIELD HOSPITAL AND BEARER CORPS.
Tho eighth annual meeting of No. 2 Company New Zealand Field Hospital and Bearer Corps, held on Tuesday, was very largely attended, Surgeon-major Evans in the chair The report and balance-sheet, which were read and adopted, showed the affairs of the corps to be in a forward state. The following committees were elected for the ensuing term; —Finance: Officers and non-commissioned officers. Orderly Room: Lance-corporal Downes, Privates Hanson, Mercer,- Jowsey, and Duckworth. Social; Corporal Vine, Privates Crawford, Riddell, G. H. Davis, C. Wilson, and Duckworth. Waggon : Privates Kirkwood, C. Wilson, Bryan, Bush, and A. J. Davis. Lance-coporal Downes was appointed quartermaster's assistant. Corporal Joseph was re-elected secretary, and Quarter-mas-tor-sergeant Bone and Corporal Vine auditors. Sergeant-major Farrant referred to the loss the corps had sustained through Sergeant P Beck being removed from Dunedin. The secretary was instructed to write to Sergeant Beck thanking him for past services and to enter his name, together with that of Lance-corporal Parker, on tho honorary life members’ rod. On the motion of Sergeant Elder, .seconded by Sergeant-major . Farrant, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Press for the publicity given to the affairs of the company.
