AMBULANCE SATURDAY.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —My attention having been drawn to the fact that the 24th of March is Ambulant Saturday, I desire to say that in other years, when seeing stalls at the street corners, I have wondered what they were there for. Inferentially the intention was to waylav every passer-by for a subscription to assist a few to obtain cheap instruction in ambulance work. For fear any others have thought the same, I wish to place on record my grateful experiences of the last six months. On the Ist of September my husband was brought home with his leg broken. The St. John ambulance took him to the hospital. My daughter took seriously ill. I did the best I could for her till I was ordered to bed myself by the doctor. Then a nurse came, bringing all the appliances necessary for a sick room, and was in attendance for some hours each day till my daughter died, the kindness, tact, sympathy, and cheerfulness of the nurse helping greatly to ease the suffering _of the patient. Hoping you will insert this, as I shall never be done singing the praises of these ambulance folk—l am? etc., Margaret Gore. March 21.
