FIRES.
CHRIST CHURCH, March 22. A ten-roomed bouse at Norwood, owned by Mr J. C. Maddison and occupied by Mr L. H. Maddison, was destroyed by fire. Insurances: £3OO in the Alliance on the building, and £75 in the National on the checks. All Saints' Anglican Church at Prebbleton was completely destroyed by fire early this morning. It was insured for £7OO, hut the oliice is not known.
