HIGH STREET SCHOOL OLD BOYS' CLUB.
The above club held their annual meeting last evening. The President (Mr J. A. Park) was in the chair, and there were about thirty members present. Several apologies were received. The annual report was submitted by the chairman and adopted. In it the Committee congTatoiated members on the great improvement in then- work. It only required harder practice and better attendances to put the club back in their old position at the top of the tree. The season started with fifty-two members of whom eleven had either been struck off or had resigned, leaving a total of forty-one. The average attendance was seventeen. The necessity of bringing: in new members was urged upon the club members. A team of sis had been entered for the third grade banner competition in connection with the Otago Gymnasium Association, and they had made a creditahle display. The club's annual handicap competition was held in October, and resulted as follows: —Seniors H CT ? d T 2 U ]uaioTS > G - Jacks °a hj I). A. Telfer and J. Watson (equal) 2. During the year the Committee had gone to some expense m new appliances for the gymnasium and had given a concert and display to wipe this off These had bean successful financially and socially. The club's thanks were due to the School Committee (for allowing use of gymnasium on Saturday afternoons) and to Messrs J A. Park, 'Mills, and J. W. Smith (for donations). „P?% showed cash in hand to be £3 16s 6d. The assets amounted to £l3 17s od. Office-bearers for the year were elected as follow: President, Mr J. A. Park (reelected); vice-presidents—Messrs J. WaddeU Smith, W. MiUs, J. H. Hosking, D. H. Gilmour (re-elected), and H. Mercer; 'secretary Mt J. Page; treasurer, Mr P. Taylor; cap! tain, Mr D. Gollan; deputy-captain, Mr D Creed; committee—Messrs Holderness, Poster Stevens, Fleming, Burton, Bennett, and Fairbairn; delegates to the Otago Gymnasium Association, Messrs D. Gollan and J. Page; About, eighteen new members were elected.
