WANGANUI, January 27. Unpleasant rumors arc afloat re tire rail, ■way accident at Momotnki on Friday night, There is a suspicion that the points were tampered with, and it is stated that the railway officials have discovered that the padlock of the points was unlocked and .removed, a small stone having been placed between the points to keep them paitly open. Portion of tho padlock was found on the ground near the rail. Tho lode could only nave been removed by means of a special railway key used for the purpose.
