MINING NEWS.
The statement of affairs cf the Junction Electric Geld Dredging Company as at 51st December last shows that on that date the cash in the bank totalled £1,571 6s 4d. Against this the company owed £1,441 2s Bd, but as a small set-off the company were owed £5.
At the ammaJ meeting of members of the Australasian Institute of Mining En-' gineers, held at the head office, CoWal Mutual flhiuribers, Melbourne, on 1 2th January (Mr A. H. Herrin, M.C.E., preaiding), the annual report' of the Council and the balance-sheet for the vear ended 31st December, 1905, were adopted. The following gentlemen were elected by postal ballot to fill the positions which become vacant at each annual meeting :—President, Mr G. D. Delprat (general manager of the Proprietary Company), Broken Hill: vice-president, Mr R. W.' Chapman, Adelaide, HA.: Council—Messrs Robert Sfcicbt (Queenstown, Tasmania), H. Herman (Warstab, Tasmania), John Warren (Broken Hill, N.S.W.), and D. B. Waters (Dunedin, N.Z.): treasurer, Mr Stanley Hunter, Melbourne; secretary, Mr A. S. Kenyon, Melbourne. Messrs James Bell, R. H. T. Brook. Arthur J. M. Chappie, Joseph Davies, W. A. T. Davies, James B. Lewis, A. F. M. Lcosemore, H. Lawrenty: Read, R. Neil Smith, and Stanley S.
