MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES

A combined meeting of tbc Ruth, Miriam, and Linda Rebekah Lodges was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Roslyn, for the purpose of entertaining and making a jnescDtatiou to P.L.D.D.G.M. Ki*. Wi'kinson and L.D.D.G.M. Sis. Raodle. Visi tors were aho ]iniwnt from the Grand Lodge and Lindr-Ji Lodge. A varied programme was provided, ooraistinJg of vocal and inrtruiuental items, to wiiich Sisters Wilkinson and Nels.in, Bros. Brickell, Rots. and Alexander contributed. G.M. Bro. D. M Miller, on behalf of tlie RebekaJi Lodges, presented P.L B.JJ.G.M. Sis. Wilkinson with a P.N.G. collar for her valuable ser vices during her term of office; and also presented L.D.D.G.M. Sis. Karaite with a brooch, suitably inscribed, on the occasion of her leaving the- district, and as a mark of the ewteeoi m wheh she is held. G M Bro. Miller. Grand Treasurer Bro. Alexander, P.D.D.G.M. Bro. Pattison, P.G. Bro. M'Peak. N.G. Bro. BnckeTi, and P.G. Bro. Shannon also bono testimony to the sterling qualities of Sisters Wilkinson and Handle. Bio. Wilkineom., 1.P.G., suitabLv responded on behalf of Sis. Wilkinson," and Sis. Randle thanked the members for their kindness. The meeting, which was a most enjoyable one, concluded with the sniping of 'Acrid lang eyrie.' Court Prid« of the Leith, A.0.F., held their fortnightly meeting on Wednesday evening in the Albany street Hall, C.R. Bro. R. D. Trounce occupying the chair. Bro. Wm. Meant!* lectured on ' First Aid,' practically demonstrating what should be done when, brought face to face with accidents of various kinds. The lecturer was attentively listened to, and accorded a. hearty "vote of thanks. In. acknowledging the vote Bro. Menus tianked the members for their attention, and said he would be pteanxl to attend on some future occasion and contiirae the subject.

The fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise, A.0.F., was presided over by C.R. Bro. T. H. Pellowe. Four candidates were initiated, P.C.R. Bro. T. Mason assisting in the ceremony. It was decided to extend irritations for next court night to Courts M/arion, lifcUe John, and Woodland's Pride, amd a committee was set up to arran«e the programme of entertsHvment.
