The leading players in the Otago Cbees Club’s junior championship to date are Messrs S. S. Myers and J. Sykes, who each have 5 wins and X loss. Mr R. H. Osten is lying next with 4 wins 1 Ices; and J. Stone 3—2, A. Ellis 2—o, J. H. Hinton 2—l, and T. Johnstone I—l follow on. Several games have still to be played. A large number of games have been played in the handicap tourney at the Otago Chess Club, and the competitors or* now in the following order of merit:— F. W. Clayton 6i wins losses, G. D.
