The leading players in the Otago Cbees Club’s junior championship to date are Messrs S. S. Myers and J. Sykes, who each have 5 wins and X loss. Mr R. H. Osten is lying next with 4 wins 1 Ices; and J. Stone 3—2, A. Ellis 2—o, J. H. Hinton 2—l, and T. Johnstone I—l follow on. Several games have still to be played. Stone 2—4, A. Sing 2—o, C. Hansen I—o, S. Hawkes o—z! and J. Hale I—lo. Considering the great odds given—via., from pawn and move to rook pawn and move —the scratch men are doing remark ably well.
