The first Children's Court under the Neglected Children Act, the object of which is to Temove juvenile offenders from the surroundings of the Police Court, was held at Ormond House. Some boys were charged with breaking into a residence and stealing money therefrom. After the hearing of the case the boys were locked in a dormitory pending the decision of the magistrate, but they escaped through a fanlight, playing havoc with the furniroTe of the dormitory before leaving. They were rearrested while playing in the street.
