MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES

The meeting of the Loyal Prince of Wale* Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.P., No. 4,254, was held last evening, P.G. R. Foreman pwridSng, The attendance was satisfactory, and the general business dealt with as usual. The delegates of the lodge to the recent district meeting (P.P.G.M. A. Cable, P.G. J. H. Crawford, and P.G. R. Foreman) gave their report of the meeting, and stated that the motion from this lodge re increasing- the funeral benefits had been brought before the meeting, when it was decided that a oammittee be set up to acquire and consider data on this question, and report to the nexfc district meeting. Arrangements in connection with tho visit to the Palmerstoh. Lodge on October 11 were completed. It is intended to leave by the 8.50 a.m. train, going on to Pufcefceraki for the day, and prpLeeding to Palmerston by the evening train to holcl the lodge .meeting there. Occasion, v--as taken last evening to welcome back Permanent Secretary C. Rose, who has juse returned from the North. During the discussion welcoming Bro. Rose mention was made of the verv capable manner in which P.G. J. H. Crawford had fulfilled the duties ol secretary during Bro. Rose's absetrae, and a motion was passed according to Bro. Crawford tho thanks of the lodgefor his services during that period. The lodge went into harmony for a Short time after the businesß had been dealt with, and ». very enjoyable tixae was 6pent.
